Overview

The Director of Customer Service is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations related to collections and customer service within the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. This role emphasizes collaboration, efficiency, and quality in patient care and service delivery.

In Short

  • Manage operations of SBO Collections and Customer Service.
  • Supervise staff including hiring and performance evaluations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and collection guidelines.
  • Collaborate with various departments to resolve patient complaints.
  • Participate in training and development of staff.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for collections processes.
  • Maintain oversight of billing and collections procedures.
  • Review and analyze staff productivity and quality.
  • Participate in vendor selection and management processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Healthcare Administration.
  • Five years of experience in hospital accounting or customer service.
  • Five years of management or supervisory experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to motivate staff and address personnel issues.
  • Experience with process improvement and technology modifications.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines.
  • Ability to handle patient complaints effectively.
  • Experience with Epic systems is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
