Overview

The Access Coordinator II works under supervision to provide comprehensive support for patient care activities in a healthcare environment.

In Short

  • Meet, greet, and assist the public in a healthcare setting.
  • Coordinate appointments, referrals, and tests for patients.
  • Check-in and register patients, collecting payments and issuing receipts.
  • Verify insurance coverage and respond to third-party payer requirements.
  • Maintain patient charts and medical records.
  • Perform insurance verification and benefits explanation.
  • Schedule and reschedule appointments using hospital systems.
  • Collect and post payments, manage change fund, and reconcile daily deposits.
  • Counsel patients on financial information related to hospital services.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of customer service or healthcare experience.
  • Basic proficiency with computers and data entry (MS Office preferred).
  • Certified Health-care Access Associate (CHAA) Certification preferred.
  • Experience with external radiology testing and knowledge of CPT codes.
  • Three years of experience in registration, billing, or scheduling in a healthcare environment.
