Overview

The U.S. Energy Foundation is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented self-starter to join the West team as a Program Associate. This role focuses on managing grants, supporting project execution, and collaborating with various teams to advance clean energy initiatives.

In Short

• Support the West team with a focus on California.
• Manage the grantmaking process from initiation to completion.
• Coordinate with cross-programmatic and cross-functional teams.
• Assist in annual planning and budgeting processes.
• Facilitate networking among grantees and consultants.
• Prepare documents and presentations for internal and external audiences.
• Implement systems and process improvements.
• Maintain collaborative relationships with peers.
• Travel for meetings and events as required.

Requirements

• Highly organized with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, and digital.
• Proficient in project management.
• Experience in customer service and teamwork.
• Interest in philanthropy, nonprofits, or public policy.
• Intermediate or advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Experience with energy or climate policy is a plus.
• Grants management experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with project management software like Asana is a plus.
• Ability to travel 2-3 times a year.
