Overview

As a Senior Backend Engineer on the Twilio Segment Engineering team, you’ll help us build and scale systems that support the leading Customer Data Platform (CDP) in a rapidly evolving and competitive market.

In Short

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services for Twilio Segment’s high scale data platform.
• Build scalable and high-performance APIs and data pipelines.
• Improve the reliability and efficiency of backend systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, and infrastructure.
• Drive best practices in software engineering, including code reviews and testing.

• 5-7 years of experience in backend development.
• Experience with AWS and distributed systems.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience writing production-grade backend code.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems and database design.
• Experience with AWS cloud-based infrastructure.
• Well-versed in designing high-scale, low-latency APIs.
• Strong debugging skills for complex applications.
• Experience with CI/CD development paradigm.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and problem-solving in a growing company.
