Accounting Operations Specialist - Remote

Overview

Trupanion is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Operations Specialist to join our Finance Operations team. This role involves ensuring that Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Procurement, and Commission processes are efficient, accurate, and aligned with financial reporting requirements.

In Short

• Ensure AP, AR, and Procurement processes meet GAAP requirements.
• Calculate and process commissions accurately based on sales data.
• Oversee AP, AR, and Commissions system and process changes.
• Analyze AP, AR, and Commissions data for informed decision-making.
• Lead initiative to implement a procurement function.
• Work cross-functionally for process improvements.
• Support audits and ensure compliance with controls.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations.
• Collaborate in a hybrid remote/in-office schedule.

Requirements

• BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
• 3+ years of accounting or finance operations experience.
• Tactical knowledge of 1099 full cycle and state reporting.
• Strong accounting knowledge of AP, AR, and Procurement.
• Experience with Workday or other ERP.
• Advanced MS Office/Excel skills.
• Proven ability to analyze financial data.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving mindset.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
