VP of Conservation, Pacific Region - Remote

Overview

The Vice President for the Pacific Region is responsible for overseeing Trout Unlimited’s mission through protecting, restoring, reconnecting, and sustaining priority waters across the Pacific states, while managing a team and collaborating with various partners.

• Lead conservation efforts across Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Idaho, and California.
• Manage a team of State Directors and oversee programmatic budgets of over $40M annually.
• Develop strategies for conservation initiatives and partnerships.
• Engage community members and volunteers in conservation work.
• Advocate for public lands and policy initiatives affecting fisheries.
• Collaborate with development teams to secure funding for projects.
• Participate in executive leadership and organizational policy development.
• Foster relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
• Ensure alignment of scientific efforts with conservation goals.
• Promote a healthy work environment and organizational culture.

Requirements

• 7-10 years of experience in natural resource conservation policy or management.
• 5 years of senior leadership experience.
• Strong background in public lands advocacy.
• Experience in managing complex budgets and teams.
• Passion for trout and salmon conservation.
• Proven fundraising capabilities.
• Exceptional communication and strategic planning skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of coldwater conservation needs in the Pacific region.
