At Traliant, we are passionate about making workplaces better for everyone. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Manager to lead and execute our payroll operations with precision, efficiency, and compliance. This critical role will oversee payroll administration for our U.S. and Canadian workforce of 150 employees while partnering closely with our HR team to support reporting, policies, procedures, and key HR initiatives. 


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Payroll Processing: Manage accurate, timely, and compliant bi-monthly payroll processing, including salaries, bonuses, commissions, and benefits. 
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, provincial, and local tax regulations, including payroll tax withholding, reporting, and submissions. 
  • Time Off Management: Maintain and track vacation, sick leave, and other time-off balances for all employees. 
  • HRIS & Reporting: Develop expertise in HRIS and payroll software, generating reports and insights to support business decisions. 
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay current on employment laws and payroll regulations to ensure company policies and processes remain compliant.
  • Documentation & Records: Maintain accurate, confidential HR records, including employee files and payroll documentation. 
  • HR Partnership: Collaborate with HR colleagues on strategic projects, cyclical activities, and continuous improvement efforts. 
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and enhance operational efficiency. 
  • Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as needed to support the HR function. 
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of payroll management experience, with a proven track record of success. 
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, laws, and regulations in the U.S. and Canada. 
  • Proficiency in HRIS platforms; experience with Paylocity is preferred. 
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with payroll reporting tools. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines. 
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
