Practice Director, Data - Remote

Overview

Toptal is seeking a Practice Director for their Data Services practice to set the vision, own the P&L, and drive growth in data strategy, governance, architecture, analytics, and engineering.

In Short

• Lead the growth of Toptal's Data Services practice.
• Identify target clients and their data challenges.
• Develop innovative data services and solutions.
• Launch offerings and establish product-market fit.
• Support sales with tools and training for data services.
• Manage financial performance with a focus on growth.
• Ensure the talent network meets client needs.
• Collaborate closely with Marketing, Sales, and Talent Operations.
• Coach and mentor team members within the Data Practice.
• Conduct performance reviews and implement improvement plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA a plus.
• 15+ years of experience in data & analytics, with 5+ in leadership.
• Strong knowledge of data governance and BI tools.
• P&L management experience in a services organization.
• Familiarity with SQL and cloud data platforms.
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in packaging/pricing enterprise data solutions.
• Proven ability to handle diverse challenges and deadlines.
