Tax Technology Lead - Remote

Overview

The Tax Technology Lead will lead and own our configuration, implementation, and evolution of the Vertex Tax platform, collaborating with functional leaders in Tax and R&D to improve Toast tax platform, daily operations, and strategic tax initiatives.

In Short

• Configuring, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance of Vertex OSeries, Vertex Edge, and other additional Vertex products
• Identify and assess tax technology risks and opportunities
• Evaluate the existing tax technology framework
• Partner with Financial Systems and Engineering teams
• Provide guidance and systems training to various teams
• Participate in projects throughout their lifecycle
• Assist in reviewing and documenting internal controls
• Participate in state and local audit data extractions

Requirements

• Direct experience with MPF requirements for tax compliance
• Experience in a corporate tax or business systems department
• Experience with US and international indirect taxes
• Hands-on experience implementing Vertex O Series
• Understanding of ERP solutions
• Expertise in pulling data from databases
• Ability to work with SaaS providers
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to effectively communicate with business leaders
