People Partner - Remote

Overview

The People Partner role at The Athletic involves collaborating with the Headquarters team to enhance employee experience and implement HR initiatives to support business growth.

• Serve as a business partner to the Headquarters team.
• Advocate for Headquarters staff to ensure they have necessary support.
• Facilitate core People programs such as performance reviews and onboarding.
• Build relationships with management to drive business priorities.
• Manage employee relations cases and investigations.
• Perform HR generalist tasks to ensure data integrity.
• Partner with management for workforce planning and mobility efforts.
• Operate as a change agent for new programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• 3+ years of experience in a People/HR role.
• Strong competence in HR areas and employment laws.
• Ability to coach and mentor employees and management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
• HRIS experience, preferably with Workday.
• SHRM or PHR certification preferred.
