Principal Software Engineer - Remote

Overview

Tenna is searching for a Principal Software Engineer to help improve our connected equipment platform and work closely with our Development and Product Teams. In this role, you'll write clean, reliable code for mission-critical projects, lead high-impact work, and play a key role in shaping our platform and tech direction.

In Short

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers across Tenna’s development teams.
• Tackle a wide variety of complex software engineering challenges.
• Design, build, and deliver robust mobile, front-end, and back-end solutions.
• Write clean, efficient, scalable, and reusable code.
• Champion unit testing and code quality.
• Lead the effort to refactor monolithic systems into scalable microservices.
• Influence and contribute to system architecture and API development.
• Partner closely with Product Managers to define and prioritize features.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic initiatives.
• Work with QA engineers to ensure cohesive solutions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience leading engineering initiatives.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems.
• Proven success working independently and collaboratively.
• Deep expertise in designing high-scale systems.
• Experience in C#, .NET, or Python encouraged.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and HTML/CSS preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Node.js preferred.
• Robust experience with SQL databases.
