Intellectual Property Counsel - Remote

Overview

This role provides intellectual property legal support to Stryker’s care.ai business, including its communication and data-generating medical devices, while partnering with the divisional IP team to develop and execute on business’s IP strategy.

• Provide IP legal support for communication and data-generating medical devices.
• Develop and execute IP strategy in collaboration with divisional IP team.
• Advise on patents, trade secrets, trademarks, copyrights, and agreements.
• Manage outside counsel and internal clients on various IP issues.
• Assist with IP diligence for acquisitions.
• Coordinate patent portfolio development and management.
• Provide IP training and counsel on legal disputes.
• Work closely with R&D and commercial business leadership.
• Travel up to 30% for business needs.
• Remote position with preference for candidates in specific locations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering/science, or equivalent.
• Juris Doctor degree and member of a U.S. state bar.
• 10+ years of relevant work experience in IP law.
• Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office preferred.
• Expertise in digital, AI, and software-enabled technologies.
• Experience negotiating complex technology agreements.
• Strong ability to oversee patent preparation and prosecution.
• Track record of cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects.
• Commitment to integrity and high ethical standards.
