Paralegal - Intellectual Property - Remote

Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Paralegal that will work closely with the Intellectual Property group to provide support on various legal issues while serving as liaison between internal and external resources, initially requiring some guidance and direction, with reduced levels of supervision as experience grows.

In Short

• Provides assistance to Emerson’s in-house attorney(s) to ensure the company’s legal strategies are driven in an efficient and effective manner.
• Maintains databases/systems related to patents, trademarks, and social media.
• Assists business units with policy and procedure compliance.
• Engages with various groups, including IP counsel.
• Manages IP applications, licensing, and registration activities.
• Drafts basic legal documentation and communicates with outside counsel.
• Researches information on existing agreements and contractual programs.
• Compiles data for reports and maintains files and databases.
• Coordinates meetings and outreach events.
• Advances strategic improvement opportunities.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies or equivalent training.
• Relevant professional experience in Intellectual Property.
• Good knowledge of US and foreign patent and trademark laws.
• Advanced MS Office skills.
• Excellent oral and written English skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
