Paralegal - Intellectual Property - Remote

Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Paralegal that will work closely with the Intellectual Property group to provide support on various legal issues while serving as liaison between internal and external resources, initially requiring some guidance and direction, with reduced levels of supervision as experience grows.

In Short

• Provides assistance to Emerson’s in-house attorney(s).
• Maintains patent, trademark, and domain name databases.
• Assists business units with policy compliance and IP inquiries.
• Engages with IP counsel and coordinators.
• Manages IP applications and licensing activities.
• Drafts basic legal documentation.
• Researches existing agreements and contractual programs.
• Compiles data for reports.
• Coordinates meetings and outreach events.
• Advances strategic improvement opportunities.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies or equivalent.
• Relevant experience in Intellectual Property.
• Good knowledge of patent and trademark laws.
• Advanced MS Office skills.
• Excellent oral and written English skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
