Overview

The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services is seeking a Community Engagement Coordinator for Faith-Based Services to enhance partnerships and support within faith-based communities.

In Short

• Position focused on community engagement with faith-based organizations.
• Develop and nurture partnerships to support the NDCS mission.
• Collaborate with facility Religious Coordinators to improve services.
• Chair the Religious Services Committee and maintain records.
• Conduct research and review religious requests.
• Engage with diverse stakeholders including incarcerated individuals.
• Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Must possess supervisory skills and office management experience.
• Knowledge of religion and Constitutional law is preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• One year of experience in program administration or business functions.
• Two years of experience with systems-impacted individuals preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Suite.
• Ability to understand religious and legal issues.
• Supervisory experience is a plus.
• Must pass medical exam and drug test.
• Complete Nebraska Corrections Training Program upon hire.
• Transcripts may be required upon application.
