Overview

The DHHS Financial Service Center is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join the Accounts Payable Team. This position will contribute to the Department’s mission by helping ensure state and federal funds are utilized efficiently to meet the health and welfare needs of Maine’s citizens.

In Short

  • Full-time position located in Augusta with partial telework options.
  • Provide quality review of invoices for accurate payments.
  • Review, enter, process, and reconcile documents for invoices.

  • Ensure accurate payment processing through accounting systems.

Requirements

  • Entry-level to intermediate education or experience in accounting or related fields.
  • Competency in applying accounting principles and reviewing business transactions.
  • Good critical thinking skills and adaptability to a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of Accounting Practices and Controls.
  • Prior experience with GAAP/GASB and accounting reconciliations.
  • Ability to work independently and with initiative.
