Overview

The Adult Protective Services Caseworker will perform professional social work for incapacitated and dependent adults, including investigations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

In Short

  • Conduct investigations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
  • Assess the need for public guardianship.
  • Document all investigation activities.
  • Advocate for and coordinate provision of services.
  • Maintain accurate case records.
  • Testify in court as necessary.
  • Work with clients, alleged perpetrators, and collateral contacts.
  • Complete and file petitions.
  • Exercise discretion in decision making.
  • Provide timely APS investigations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field.
  • Eligible for licensure as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW).
  • At least 1 year of experience with incapacitated and dependent adults.
  • Strong documentation and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel throughout specified counties.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion.
  • Knowledge of social service systems.
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
