Environmental Health Program Manager - Remote

Overview

The Maine CDC is looking for an Environmental Health Program Manager to provide leadership and expertise for the Radiation Control Program to minimize radiation exposure to the public and workers.

In Short

• Provide overall direction and evaluation for the program.
• Supervise staff in licensing and inspection activities.
• Manage regulation of X-ray machinery and compliance.
• Communicate protective action requirements regarding radiation.
• Manage program budgets and revenue sources.
• Collaborate with Maine CDC leadership on policy interpretations.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Support the State Nuclear Safety Inspector.

Requirements

• Advanced education or experience in environmental health or related field.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to synthesize and summarize information.
• Effective relationship-building skills.
• Computer skills, including Microsoft software.
• Knowledge of radiation safety and compliance.
• Experience with radioactive materials licensing.
• Knowledge of the US FDA Mammography Quality Standards Act.
