Overview

An Engineering Manager on the Data team will coach, manage, and support a team of 4-6 full-stack engineers and work cross-functionally with product and other dev teams.

In Short

  • Work closely with an onboarding mentor to complete the standard engineering onboarding process.
  • Learn the ins and outs of Quorum’s Core products, technical strategy, roadmap, and challenges.
  • Own the planning and execution of the Data team and technical roadmap and milestones.
  • Mentor and coach existing team members to improve their skills.
  • Improve data quality and stability for scrapers.
  • Hands-on coding and technical guidance expected at about 50% in any given week.
  • Manage expectations with various stakeholders.
  • Commit to meeting agreed-upon SLAs with clients.
  • Support a remote-first team with flexible work options.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, including 2+ years as an Engineering Manager.
  • Experience with web scraping, spiders, and web crawlers.
  • Experience in data modeling in relational & non-relational databases.
  • Expertise in Python, React, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, AWS, and Linux.
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures.
  • Excellent communication skills, including good English.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience with US-based companies and hybrid teams.
  • Commitment to hands-on development time.
