Overview

Sentara Medical Group is hiring a Patient Care Specialist at Princess Anne in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This is a day shift full-time position, Monday through Friday, providing non-clinical support within the clinic/practice environment to ensure an exceptional patient experience.

• Provides non-clinical support in a healthcare setting.
• Schedules appointments and outpatient procedures.
• Coordinates referrals, resources, and pre-authorizations.
• Handles communication with patients and documentation.
• Supports practice operations with administrative tasks.
• Requires high initiative and independent judgment.
• Three years of clerical and customer service experience needed.
• Experience with health insurance plans and medical terminology is required.
• Preferred experience with electronic medical record systems.
• Full-time position, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Three years of clerical and customer service experience.
• One year experience with health insurance plans and medical records.
• Experience with electronic medical records preferred.
• An Associate's degree in lieu of experience will be considered.
