Director of Finance - Remote

Overview

The Director of Finance plays a key role in helping leading venture-stage firms build their businesses by providing in-depth financial and analytical guidance. This person will operate with a high level of independence and will be accountable for client success from an accounting, finance and customer service perspective.

In Short

• Ability to work in consultation with clients’ executive leadership teams to understand the intricate operational drivers of the client’s business
• Ability to identify KPIs and develop methods to measure and track against them
• Guide all close calls, combining experience in accounting with expertise in forecasting and modeling
• Ability to manage complex client relationships independently
• Full ownership of client engagements requiring only occasional input from CFO
• Additional focus on industry analysis and industry-level metrics
• Lead and direct fundraising (equity/debt) due diligence process
• Cap table management and understanding of various equity and debt instruments
• Assess and review 409A valuations
• Present Board materials to client management and Board members

Requirements

• 8+ years in finance-focused roles
• BA in Finance, Accounting or Economics
• Solid experience in firms’ business operations and ability to set up systems and processes
• Superior financial modeling and presentation skills
• Comfort with data and ambiguity, and an ability to delve into details
• Good communication skills with the ability to distill complex thoughts
• Highly organized with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple client workstreams
• Ability and desire to teach others within the organization
• Deep understanding of the workings of the E-Comm and CPG Industry
