Accounting Manager - Remote

Overview

The Accounting Manager is responsible for delivering value and accounting services to clients from Propeller’s portfolio of fast-growing consumer brand, technology and food & beverage companies. This includes leading teams of accountants to provide weekly, monthly and year-end accounting activities. The role offers growth and exposure across several industries. The Accounting Manager collaborates and is supported by our Accounting and Finance Directors, as well as others at Propeller, to manage client relationships, oversee the preparation of monthly financial reporting, and develop and implement accounting policies, procedures and controls for our clients.

In Short

• Lead month-end close process for a portfolio of clients.
• Prepare monthly financial statements including trend and variance analysis.
• Own general accounting processes and ensure accuracy and timeliness of deliverables.
• Increase efficiency and document complex accounting processes.
• Prepare federal, state and local tax and compliance filings.
• Support clients through audits and due diligence.
• Engage with clients to deliver high quality service.
• Mentor a team of accountants and provide ongoing feedback.
• Partner with colleagues to implement and integrate new processes.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients’ accounting questions.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of operational accounting experience.
• Experience with full close-cycle accounting.
• Proactive communicator with problem solving skills.
• An undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• A passion for supporting start-up companies.
• Experienced in QBO, Netsuite, Shopify.
• Advanced Excel knowledge.
• Expertise working in Tech and SaaS Industry.
