Senior Database Administrator (DBA) Consultant - Remote

Overview

As a Senior Database Administrator, you will support customers by providing remote database administration for OpenEdge deployments, ensuring business continuity and high availability.

In Short

• Support multiple customer deployments as their Primary Database Administrator.
• Provide periodic on-call support.
• Troubleshoot technical OpenEdge database issues.
• Deliver monthly reports for customers.
• Perform Database Health Checks and implement OpenEdge features.
• Conduct platform migrations and upgrades.
• Implement maintenance tasks like Dump and Load.
• Collaborate with the largest managed database service team.
• Work remotely with flexible hours in EMEA time zone.
• Engage in project work as an OpenEdge consultant.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with OpenEdge databases.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux and Windows platforms.
• Proficiency in Shell Scripting and Windows Batch scripting.
• Knowledge of JDK/JRE frameworks and Tomcat implementations.
• Experience in n-tier environments with Progress Classic AppServer.
• Fluent in English and at least one other language.
• Strong troubleshooting and analysis skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to work in EMEA time zone.
• Passion for helping customers resolve technical issues.
