Counsel - Remote

Overview

Prepared is seeking a mission-driven, high-agency Counsel to join as the company’s first full-time legal hire, reporting directly to our VP of Strategy & General Counsel. In this foundational role, you’ll take ownership of our legal operations, support commercial growth, and help reduce legal risk across labor, compliance, data privacy, and contracting.

In Short

• Join Prepared as the first full-time Counsel.
• Manage day-to-day legal operations including contract management and compliance.
• Lead commercial contract reviews and negotiations.
• Work with Sales and GTM teams to develop legal playbooks.
• Identify legal and regulatory gaps in employment law and data privacy.
• Support internal teams and leadership in legal matters.
• Improve organizational legal hygiene to reduce legal debt.
• Must be a licensed attorney with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience in labor & employment and commercial contracting required.
• Motivated to solve complex legal problems creatively.

Requirements

• Licensed attorney with 5+ years of legal experience.
• 3+ years at an AmLaw 100 firm or high-caliber legal environment.
• Knowledge in labor & employment and data privacy laws.
• Experience supporting fast-paced teams.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
