Intermediate Database Reliability Engineer - Remote

Overview

The Database Reliability Engineer (DBRE) is responsible for managing, building, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting the cloud-based database infrastructure that our mission-critical SaaS application runs on.

In Short

• Manage and maintain cloud-based database infrastructure.
• Improve processes via automation to reduce toil.
• Work with engineering and SRE teams to support new product launches.
• Monitor database metrics and ensure objectives are met.
• Implement automations to manage database systems at scale.
• Provide database support including performance optimizations.
• Assist with performance troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Requires some on-call or after-hours work.

Requirements

• 3+ years working with relational database systems.
• 1+ years in a DBRE or SRE role.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Coding and automation experience required.
• Familiarity with IaC tools such as Ansible, Terraform.
• Experience with source control (GIT).
• SQL Server experience preferred; MySQL, PostgreSQL nice to have.
• Experience with VLDBs and managing large databases.
• Knowledge of languages such as Powershell, C#, SQL, Python.
