Overview

The Lead Data Engineer will provide technical leadership for ETL development and production support, working in a hybrid environment that requires occasional visits to Canberra.

In Short

Role: Lead Data Engineer (EL1 equivalent)
Contract Duration: Initially 12 months with possible extensions
Location: Hybrid (Canberra office or remote in Australia)
Maximum 40 hours/week
Must obtain security clearance
Provide technical leadership for ETL development
Maintain and manage infrastructure with IaC and CI/CD
Integrate data workflows with platforms like SharePoint and SAP
Document workflows and mentor team members
Essential skills include AWS technologies and data management tools

Requirements

Strong communication and documentation skills
Expertise in data analysis and ETL development
Experience with AWS Glue, AWS DMS, Apache Parquet, and others
Agile team collaboration experience
Ability to document workflows for knowledge transfer
Must be able to provide security clearance details
Proposed start date and hourly rate required
