Legal Counsel (FinTech, EMI) - Remote

Overview

As a Legal Counsel at PayDo, you will leverage your expertise in international financial regulations to ensure the company's operations adhere to all relevant legal standards, handling complex legal inquiries and drafting a wide array of legal agreements.

In Short

• Drive financial licensing processes in the EU, UK, and other regions.
• Maintain and open correspondent and operational bank accounts.
• Handle complex legal requests and RFIs from banks and authorities.
• Stay updated on financial regulations, including AML and KYC.
• Update compliance programs according to regulatory requirements.
• Manage regulatory reporting and audits.
• Oversee company governance policies and updates.
• Draft various legal agreements including NDA and Employment Agreements.
• Serve as a liaison with local law firms and auditors.
• Lead crisis response and maintain business continuity.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Legal Counsel or similar role.
• Understanding of international corporate law and EU compliance principles.
• Experience with regulatory obligations in a startup to enterprise transition.
• Fluent in English and preferably Ukrainian or Russian.
• Master's degree in law.
• Experience opening international bank accounts and drafting agreements.
