Staff Full Stack Engineer, Payments - Remote

We offer creators a variety of ways to engage with their communities and build a lasting business including: paid memberships, free memberships, community chats, live experiences, and selling to fans directly with one-time purchases.

• $8 billion+ in revenue generated since Patreon's inception
• 60 million+ free new memberships for fans who may not be ready to pay just yet, and
• 10 million+ fans paying each month for exclusive access to creators' work and community.

We're continuing to invest heavily in building the best creator platform with the best team in the creator economy and are looking for a Staff Full Stack Engineer to join our Payments team to support our mission.

In Short

• Help scale and expand capabilities of Patreon's payment platform.
• Lead and contribute to the development and design of Payments products.
• Drive technical design of scalable and maintainable components.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers.
• Work with frontend technologies including React, Typescript, and Next.js.
• Utilize Java, Python, Flask, Spring Boot, MySQL, and AWS on the backend.
• Mentor and guide engineers inside and outside the team.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Strong experience with frontend frameworks including React and Next.js.
• Experience with Python or similar languages and SQL.
• Solid communication skills with cross-functional teams.
• Attention to detail, high reliability, and high throughput.
• Experience in the payments domain is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
