Staff Engineer - Payments - Remote

Overview

Pleo is on a mission to make spend management effective and empowering. We are looking for a dedicated Staff Engineer in the Payments group to help design, build, and manage a Payments platform.

In Short

• Develop Payments services and tools for high-quality products.
• Integrate solutions with colleagues.
• Discover and solve intricate problems across teams.
• Coach and mentor other engineers.
• Promote features and processes throughout the organization.
• Spend 30% to 50% of time coding.
• Experience with cloud environments and microservices.
• Architect and build scalable solutions.
• Knowledge of API Gateway roles and responsibilities.

Requirements

• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Google Cloud).
• Proficient in server-side languages (Kotlin, TypeScript).
• Familiarity with testing frameworks (Cypress, JUnit).
• Understanding of observability and monitoring tools (Grafana).
• Strong communication skills.
• Curiosity and eagerness to learn new programming languages.
• Ability to coach others and advocate for thorough code reviews.
• Experience in designing overall solutions.
• Ability to break down complex problems and align on tradeoffs.
