Overview

Owner.com is looking for its first-ever Payroll and Benefits Manager to oversee payroll processing and manage employee benefits in a remote-first environment.

In Short

  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for all team members globally.
  • Deliver clear, accurate reports to the finance team.
  • Partner with vendors to optimize systems and resolve payroll issues.
  • Develop and maintain efficient policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with payroll vendors on audits and reporting.
  • Ensure accurate classification of team members vs. contractors.
  • Manage team member benefit programs ensuring compliance.
  • Evaluate and negotiate benefit plans with brokers and vendors.
  • Support team members with benefits questions and enrollment.
  • Manage onboarding for contractors and freelancers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in payroll and benefits administration.
  • Experience in a startup environment supporting a global workforce.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of benefits laws and compliance in the U.S., Canada, and LATAM.
  • Strong knowledge of HR tech stack and payroll systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
