Overview

The Vice President of Research and Development will lead the innovation strategy and hands-on product development at Once Upon a Farm, focusing on creating clean, nourishing food products.

• Lead all product innovation initiatives from concept to commercialization.
• Manage a high-performing R&D team and mentor team members.
• Drive benchtop innovation and rapid prototyping.

• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Marketing, Finance, and Sales.
• Develop best-in-class R&D processes and protocols.
• Conduct analytical testing and maintain documentation standards.
• Optimize R&D budgets and resource allocation.
• Represent the brand in industry thought leadership.
• Infuse creativity and agility into the innovation process.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive R&D leadership experience in food & beverage.
• Expertise in benchtop formulation, process development, and commercialization.
• Experience working with founders or early-stage leadership.
• Strong project management and communication skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Suite and nutritional software.
• Desire to work in a dynamic, purpose-driven environment.
• Up to 30% travel required.
• Must reside in the USA.
