Legal Counsel (m/f/d) - Remote

Overview

We are looking for an ambitious Legal Counsel (m/f/d) who will be responsible for all legal questions related to our current and future business and will accompany Ocumeda as the central legal contact person.

In Short

• You will take over the legal assessment of all legal aspects of our business model, from product and medical law to data protection and contract law.
• You will accompany our expansion into new countries and coordinate legal requirements with local legal experts and law firms.
• You will act as a central sparring partner for our management concerning compliance, regulatory issues, risk assessment, and contract design.
• You will work closely with our product, operations, and tech teams to ensure that new features and services are implemented legally, safely, and compliant.
• You will efficiently manage external law firms and ensure that we are legally up to date in all markets.

Requirements

• You enjoy solving legal questions in the digital health environment and can easily prepare complex legal topics understandably.
• You are motivated to take responsibility, work hands-on, and dive deep into new areas of law.
• You have a completed legal degree (1st-2nd state exam or LL.M.); ideally related to medical law. Data protection law, IT law, or European law are also advantageous.
• You have already gained relevant professional experience, for example, in a law firm or in a regulated company (health, pharma, tech, insurance, etc.).
• You are a team player and enjoy working cross-functionally with product, operations, compliance, tech, and external partners.
• You speak fluent German (C1) and English (C1); additional languages are a plus for our expansion.
