Research & Development Manager (R&D) - Remote

Overview

The Research & Development Manager will lead the end-to-end development of new consumer goods within travel, health, and fitness product categories, working closely with an offsite team.

In Short

• Lead product development from concept to mass production.
• Manage prototype, sampling, tooling, and pre-production cycles.
• Identify and manage suppliers across key China hubs.
• Negotiate pricing, MOQs, and lead times with suppliers.
• Develop and maintain BOMs and cost breakdowns.
• Define quality standards and manage compliance testing.
• Oversee packaging development and compliance.
• Drive project execution and stakeholder communication.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5–8 years of product development experience in consumer goods.
• Experience in travel goods, health & wellness, or fitness equipment.
• Hands-on expertise in BOMs and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of international compliance requirements.
• Bilingual fluency in Mandarin and English.
• Proficiency in CAD tools and project management skills.
• Strong negotiation skills and attention to detail.
