Overview

Newsela is seeking a Senior HR Generalist to join our People Team, with a primary focus on supporting front line managers and leaders. This role is centered on day-to-day people support, performance enablement, employee relations guidance, and change execution.

In Short

• Support leaders with performance management guidance and employee relations support.
• Coordinate and administer performance management processes.
• Advise managers on conducting effective performance conversations.
• Support employee separation processes in partnership with various teams.
• Conduct exit interviews and synthesize themes for insights.
• Analyze people and performance data to identify trends.
• Provide backup support to People Business Partners as needed.

Requirements

• 5+ years of HR Generalist experience in a SaaS or Edtech company.
• Experience supporting leaders and managers with guidance on performance and employee relations.
• Demonstrated experience in fast-paced, performance-driven environments.
• Working knowledge of U.S. employment laws and HR best practices.
• Proven ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and HR systems.
