Counterparty Risk Analyst - Remote

Overview

The Counterparty Risk Analyst plays a vital role in evaluating and maintaining broker and correspondent relationships across Newfi’s Mortgage Wholesale and Correspondent divisions. This role is responsible for analyzing, evaluating, and assessing prospects, applications and annual renewals, for mortgage brokers and correspondent lenders.

In Short

• Evaluate and approve new and renewal wholesale and correspondent accounts.
• Conduct due diligence reviews, including licensing and credit reports.
• Monitor and address sanctions alerts related to brokers.
• Collaborate with onboarding and sales teams.
• Help tailor risk mitigation strategies.
• Extract and analyze reports using internal systems.
• Send agreements via DocuSign and maintain compliance records.
• Provide ongoing support to Account Executives.
• Provide updates to Leadership regarding application and renewal activity.
• Perform additional account maintenance duties as needed.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in mortgage banking or financial services.
• Proficient in credit risk assessment and regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Acrobat Pro, and DocuSign.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Experience with Free Agent CRM and MeridianLink is a plus.
