Overview

The NYISO’s Market Operations department invites applications for a full-time ICAP Market Operations Specialist, responsible for supporting the Department in the coordination and analysis of process changes in the Capacity Market.

In Short

• Support the ICAP Market Operations Department in identifying and integrating market evolutions.
• Act as the Market Operations lead on New York State Reliability Council issues.
• Coordinate with various NYISO departments to ensure consistent application of ICAP Market principles.
• Conduct technical and economic assessments related to the electric grid.
• Develop expertise in NYISO procedures related to ICAP Operations.
• Negotiate complex rule changes with multiple stakeholders.
• Analyze NYISO markets and propose market design changes.
• Produce reports and memos for senior management and regulators.
• Participate in internal and external committees as a department liaison.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or Math; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Five years of experience in the electric utility industry or deregulated energy market operations.
• Knowledge of power systems and power system applications software.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
