Overview

The Primary Family Coordinator (PFC) plays a crucial role in managing referral and case activity to support donor families, ensuring timely follow-ups and effective communication with hospitals.

In Short

  • Manage referral and case activity to support donor families.
  • Participate in remote work with on-call shifts.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure appropriate responses to referrals.
  • Document all follow-ups in electronic medical records.
  • Monitor case activity overnight.
  • Participate in training and meetings as required.
  • Handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Communicate effectively with hospital partners.
  • Prioritize tasks under competing demands.
  • Support the mission of organ and tissue donation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in OPO Family Services or similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Organizational skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to travel to Waltham, MA for orientation.
  • OPO experience preferred.
