Overview

The Family Resource Coordinator (FRC) plays a vital role in supporting organ and tissue donation processes through empathetic communication and collaboration with families and hospitals.

In Short

  • Remote position with 12-hour on-call shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Engage with hospitals to assess potential donor families.
  • Educate families on organ and tissue donation.
  • Advocate for donation while respecting cultural beliefs.
  • Maintain documentation of approaches and authorizations.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions.
  • Required to check emails daily unless on planned leave.
  • Must have prior OPO experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field preferred.

Requirements

  • Experience approaching families for organ and tissue donation.
  • Compassionate and empathetic communication skills.
  • Ability to document medical/social histories.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Prior experience in hospice care or bereavement counseling preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.
  • Preferred certifications in social work or related fields.
  • Willingness to participate in corporate-sponsored events and team-building activities.
