Overview

The Authorization Educator works to develop and deliver focused authorization training for staff in the organ and tissue donation field, utilizing data analysis and training initiatives to enhance the skills of Family Services staff.

In Short

  • Develop and deliver authorization training for new and current staff.
  • Conduct phone donation discussions and assessments.
  • Analyze authorization-related data to identify performance gaps.
  • Collaborate to create individual training plans to improve authorization rates.
  • Provide on-going education through quarterly discussions.
  • Assume on-call shifts to facilitate donation discussions.
  • Act as a mentor and leader to clinical staff.
  • Participate in remote and in-person training sessions.
  • Utilize computer applications for data reporting and training.
  • Engage in community volunteering and team-building events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience as a Family Services Coordinator in an OPO.
  • Strong presentation and crisis intervention skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and assess training needs.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Project management experience.
