Overview

As a Staff Database Administrator at Skyhigh Security, you will be responsible for improving and maintaining software development and database design while ensuring high availability and disaster recovery resilience in cloud and on-prem environments.

In Short

• Work closely with development teams to improve software and database design.
• Automate infrastructure activities and document standards.
• Design and manage PostgreSQL and Greenplum DB clusters.
• Optimize public cloud resources for cost-effective use.
• Monitor and maintain database systems ensuring data security.
• Drive automation frameworks and create new ones as needed.
• Provide visibility on application health through dashboards.
• Implement database encryption and user management.
• Analyze and resolve database performance issues.
• Evaluate new technologies and provide proof-of-concept.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Linux systems administration.
• Experience with virtualized environments.
• Familiarity with Jenkins, Ansible, and GitHub Actions.
• In-depth knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL features.
• Experience with AWS services like Aurora and RDS.
• Expertise in tuning PostgreSQL databases for performance.
• Extensive scripting experience, preferably in Python.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
