We’re on a mission to make money work for everyone. As a Senior Legal Counsel at Monzo, you will play a key role in advising on employment, incentives, and pensions-related matters in a regulated bank environment.

In Short

• Provide strategic employment legal advice on EIP matters.
• Collaborate with the People team to develop policies and guidance.
• Support the business across the employee life cycle.
• Manage contentious EIP legal matters with external counsel.
• Work with the Reward team on compensation arrangements.
• Provide legal support on corporate and commercial functions.
• Support international projects as the business scales.
• Develop frameworks to increase efficiency in legal advice.
• Deliver training and insights on EIP matters.
• Manage relationships with external legal counsel.

Requirements

• At least 6 years PQE or equivalent experience in employment law.
• Excellent grounding in employment law, ideally with in-house experience.
• Experience with employment-related regulatory issues in financial services.
• Knowledge of incentive structures and pension arrangements.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle a wide range of EIP legal issues.
• Comfortable operating at all organizational levels.
• Proactive in assessing risks and implementing actions.
• Dynamic approach to a fast-paced environment.
• Passionate about banking and technology.

• Base salary of £93,500 - £126,500 plus stock options.
