Technical Writer for MongoDB Documentation - Remote

Overview

The MongoDB Documentation team is a group of writers and engineers who develop and maintain the documentation for the MongoDB Product family. Our goal is to help our readers successfully use MongoDB products by providing outstanding documentation.

In Short

• Write clear and consistent reference documentation and tutorials on high-complexity features.
• Support a large global community of MongoDB users.
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.
• Research complex product features and validate with testing.
• Produce technically accurate and well-written documentation.
• Advocate for users in everything you write.
• Contribute feedback through copy review and planning discussions.
• Comfortable with toolchain and writing workflow within 3 months.
• Deep dives into database architecture and technology as part of feature documentation within 6 months.
• Create high-quality documentation for entire feature sets within 12 months.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience writing technical documentation in English.
• Strong critical reading and writing skills.
• Experience with database technologies (NoSQL or RDBMS).
• Ability to read code for technical examples in at least one programming language.
• Experience testing and validating documentable features.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
• Experience with distributed systems and/or security technologies is helpful.
