In Short

  • Lead the verification of prior authorization requirements.
  • Work directly with physician offices and payers.
  • Ensure patient insurance coverage and benefits.
  • Assist with appealing prior authorization denials.
  • Communicate issues with benefits or coverage to managers.
  • Coordinate paperwork and clinical notes for submission.
  • Follow up on authorization status throughout the process.
  • Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Handle multiple inquiries simultaneously with attention to detail.
  • Support a culture of healthcare access and equity.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic knowledge of payer payment processes.
  • Familiarity with ICD9/10 and CPT codes.
  • Outstanding communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to learn and use multiple CRM software programs.
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • College degree and AAPC Coding Certificate are nice to have.
