Sales Tax Manager - Remote

Overview

This role is responsible for overseeing the accounting functions for the Mattel Global Shared Services US Indirect Tax team to ensure the timely and accurate processing of sales tax, property tax, and other compliance filings.

In Short

• Manage US indirect tax responsibilities including sales and use tax filings.
• Understand and adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Monthly analysis of GL accounts for proper accounting.
• Strong comprehension of accounting practices.
• Evaluate off-site & internal teams’ performance.
• Conduct tax research for compliance.
• Suggest solutions to reduce errors.
• Lead process improvements.
• Serve as subject matter expert for US Indirect tax.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field.
• CPA is preferred.
• 6+ years’ experience in tax or accounting.
• Leadership experience managing a team.
• Experience in a Shared Services Operating model.
• Experience with major tax software and financial systems.
