Senior Software Engineer - Transaction Auditing - Remote

Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer on our Transaction Auditing team, you will design, build, and operate the systems that ensure penny-perfect accuracy, reliability, and compliance across Marqeta’s Transaction Domain. In this role, you will lead a small, high-impact scrum team responsible for the infrastructure, services, and APIs that guarantee the correctness of all financially-impacting transactions at Marqeta.

In Short

• Design and implement high-performance solutions for large-scale, high-volume, and high-velocity financial data and complex compliance landscapes.
• Develop the software and infrastructure to achieve repeatable and efficient high-quality releases with automation.
• Debug critical production issues across services and different stack levels.
• Apply a detail-oriented mindset to analyze data, detect patterns, and create well-organized documentation.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues across various services and system layers.
• Communicate complex information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience in software development in Java, service-oriented architectures, and cloud computing (AWS preferred).
• Experience developing in Java and Relational Database/SQL.
• Ability to develop and deliver clean, readable and error-free code with thorough documentation.
• Ability to understand existing designs and technology choices.
• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
• The ability to demonstrate humility, empathy, and to take constructive feedback positively.
