In Short

• Lead and mentor a small but mighty team—hiring, coaching, and growing top design talent
• Represent user experience in company planning and executive-level discussions
• Drive a holistic UX vision that aligns with educator needs, business goals, and technical realities
• Champion design thinking across the org—educating teams on UX best practices and research
• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Data to shape roadmaps and priorities
• Ensure accessibility, usability, and trust are foundational to everything we ship
• Build design systems and rituals that support speed, consistency, and creative exploration
• Contribute directly to product design—delivering wireframes, prototypes, and polished experiences when necessary

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in product/UX design, including 3+ years managing designers
• Proven ability to balance leadership with individual contribution
• Experience designing intuitive tools and systems—bonus if in edtech or AI products
• Strong portfolio that shows design depth, systems thinking, and impact at scale
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills
• Passion for working in mission-driven environments
• Experience building design culture and advocating for UX at a strategic level
