Overview

The Sleep Technologist III is responsible for laboratory set-up, patient hook-ups and performing and evaluating overnight polysomnograms, operating sophisticated medical equipment to record sleep and wake physiology.

In Short

  • Accurately and safely inserts Pes according to Clinic policy and procedures.
  • Applies electrodes and sensors to patients using universal standards.
  • Instructs patients regarding hook-up procedures and testing processes.
  • Fits patients for nasal masks during titration tests.
  • Conducts urine screens according to hospital policies.
  • Recognizes and eliminates artifacts during data collection.
  • Generates comprehensive technologist reports reflecting testing procedures and outcomes.
  • Performs CPAP and Bilevel titrations according to clinic policies.
  • Provides medications to patients per physician orders.
  • Maintains a schedule that includes day, evening, or night shifts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Three years of related work experience.
  • Knowledge of Polysomnographic testing and procedures.
  • Understanding of common Sleep Disorders.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software used in the field.
  • Ability to apply judgment and make informed decisions.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • RPSGT and BLS certifications required.
