Overview

The Manager of Coding Quality, Audit & Education provides enterprise leadership for coding accuracy, audit oversight, regulatory compliance, and coder/physician education across inpatient, outpatient, and professional services.

In Short

  • Responsible for coding accuracy and audit oversight.
  • Communicates coding regulation changes across the health system.
  • Develops educational programs for coding compliance.
  • Conducts ongoing audits and risk assessments.
  • Oversees a team of coding auditors and educators.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific regulations.
  • Maintains and updates coding audit policies.
  • Prepares reports and presentations on audit findings.
  • Collaborates with various departments on coding initiatives.
  • Acts as a resource for coding standards and guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master's preferred.
  • 5–7 years of experience in coding and auditing.
  • EPIC experience required.
  • Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding.
  • Ability to analyze and communicate coding compliance issues.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
  • CCS certification required; other certifications preferred.
