Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Prime Trading Desk, you will play a key role in building and maintaining the systems that power Kraken’s institutional trading operations, working at the intersection of finance and technology.

• Collaborate with Traders, Quants, and Product Managers to deliver customized software solutions.
• Design and implement scalable, high-performance backend systems for institutional trading.
• Own end-to-end development of major features, including architecture and deployment.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
• Maintain and enhance continuously running services.
• Integrate with third-party APIs for real-time market data.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and implement fixes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally in trading or fintech.
• 3+ years of experience with Go (Golang) in production.
• Strong command of SQL (MySQL, Postgres) and experience with caching/datastores.
• Ability to work collaboratively with non-technical stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of software architecture principles.
