Backend Engineer - Remote

In Short

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust back-end services and APIs.
• Own and operate workflows built with Apache Airflow and collaborate with data engineers.
• Implement lightweight front-end changes to support product iterations.
• Optimise system performance and reliability across processing and delivery layers.
• Participate in code reviews and propose architecture improvements.
• 4–6 years of experience in backend or full-stack roles.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Scala, or similar languages.
• Experience building APIs using frameworks like FastAPI or GraphQL.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow or similar orchestration tools.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies like Vue 3 and TypeScript/JavaScript.

Requirements

• Experience with Docker; Kubernetes knowledge is a plus.
• Thrive on building scalable back-end systems and managing data flows.
• Comfortable owning production workflows and debugging failures.
• Fluent in English and comfortable working in a diverse, international team.
